Poems written around July 4th 1941; Based on actual people!! There was once a girl named Curly Who got up each morning so early She scrapes off the dirt And forgets her pink skirt And comes on the Station so surly. There was a great guy called Hubert Who looks like a descendant of Schubert He's got a neck like a giraffe That makes people laugh That comical fellow named Hubert. There was once a creature named Creepy Who appears every morning so sleepy She creeps up the road Like a half-baked toad Wearing a frock that looks cheapy. There was a young half-wit called Charlotte Who dresses in Blue, Green and Scarlett Again and Again Files her nails in the train The menfolk all call her a Harlott A mouldy old dragon named Brand Each day at the platform doth stand With a face like a sphinx And arms full of pinks Thinks shes the Queen of the Land. There once were two old evacuees Who wore skirts below their knees They had heads full of fleas Their feet smelt of cheese As into the carriage they squeeze. - Visited Ireland 1961 Holiday in Jersey 1975 Moved to 9 Manners Road, June 1978. Accident at work involving Achilles tendon, 9 Oct 1984. Knocked off bike 12 December 1984.
